Safari!

If you ever get the chance to go on safari---do it!

This past weekend I went on safari for 3 days with 2 other volunteers, John and Jenny.  Normally safaris in Tanzania are around 5 days long but we didn't want to miss a lot of teaching days so we did an abbreviated version.  We weren't able to go to Serengetti because of our time restraints but we were not disappointed with Tarangire National Park, Ngorogoro Crater, and Lake Manyara.

The animals were amazing.  I saw giraffes, elephants, zebras, lions, warthogs, impala, gazelles, wildebeasts, rhinos, hippos, cheetahs, mongoose, ostrich, baboons, monkeys,and so many exotic birds. My favorite part was seeing all the animal babies...they were so cute! The scenery was spectacular, especially at Ngorogoro Crater.  It's beauty is comparable to the Grand Canyon and has the added bonus of being filled with so many wonderful animals.
